Day 1: The Historical Center And Modern Tbilisi

We will spend the day exploring Tbilisi, Georgia’s capital, with its distinctive blend of old and new. Highlights include the historic streets of Old Tbilisi, bridges crossing the Mtkvari River, and the vibrant Rustaveli Avenue with its notable monuments and buildings. Enjoy a walking tour through Tbilisi’s Old City, exploring its key sites on foot—from the historic Metekhi Bridge with its views of the Mtkvari River to Abanotubani, the ancient district considered the city’s birthplace. Stroll along the narrow, café-lined lanes of Sharden Street and Erekle II Street, visit the 13th-century Sioni Cathedral, and see the Old Town’s traditional houses set against its preserved defensive walls. Cross the modern glass-and-steel Bridge of Peace before continuing to Freedom Square, crowned by the golden statue of St. George, and conclude along Rustaveli Avenue, named after the famed medieval poet. Day 2: Private Guided Jeep Safari Tour To Sioni Reservoir, Mtskheta & Folklore Evening

We begin with a private guided jeep safari journey through the Greater Caucasus, driving toward the Sioni Reservoir and its dramatic alpine landscapes - a scenic drive through forests, meadows, and mountain views leading to the reservoir formed by the Iori River. After a local lunch in the mountains, we continue south to Mtskheta, Georgia’s ancient capital, exploring its old town, the Tree of Life mosaic, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, and the charming pedestrian streets lined with traditional houses. On our return to Tbilisi, we visit Jvari Monastery, overlooking the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. Day 3: Stalin’s Hometown, Borjomi & The Lesser Caucasus Mountains

We drive to Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, and visit the Stalin Museum, home to thousands of artifacts connected to one of the most influential figures of the 20th century. From there, we continue to Borjomi to explore its lush Central Park, famous mineral springs, and the charming 19th-century wooden architecture that once attracted the Russian aristocracy. Day 4: Ancient Castles & Vardzia The Splendor Of Georgia’s Biggest Cave Town

We begin the morning in Akhaltsikhe, whose name means “new castle,” exploring the impressive Rabati Castle, a restored medieval fortress rising above the town. Continuing south, we pause to admire Khertvisi Fortress from across the river, its ancient walls perched dramatically on a rocky outcrop. Day 5: Kutaisi – The Land Of The Golden Fleece

We spend the day in Kutaisi, Georgia’s second most important city and the ancient capital of Colchis, where myth places Jason and the Argonauts in their pursuit of the Golden Fleece. Our visit includes the 11th-century Bagrati Cathedral, a walking tour through the charming city center with its Colchis Fountain, Kutaisi Park, City Hall, and Opera Theater, as well as a stop at the lively Green Bazaar with its striking Kolkhida relief. Day 6: Up To The Wild Greater Caucasus Range

We drive north to Zugdidi and explore its bustling market, the vibrant heart of the city, offering fresh produce and local souvenirs. Our journey continues into the Svaneti region, one of Georgia’s most spectacular areas in the heart of the Greater Caucasus, home to the unique Svan people. The mountainous road follows the Enguri River through dense forests and past numerous waterfalls, with a stop at the impressive Enguri Dam Viewpoint, the second highest concrete arch dam in the world. We arrive in Mestia, the main town of Svaneti, a picturesque village serving as the gateway to the region, and take an afternoon stroll through its charming town square. Day 7: Guided Private Jeep Safari Tour To Ushguli Village The Land Of A Thousand Towers

Today we embark on a private guided jeep safari tour along the scenic mountain road to Ushguli Village, considered the highest settlement in Europe, offering spectacular views and a journey through rugged mountain scenery. Along the way, we stop to admire rivers and snow-capped peaks that frame the landscape. Ushguli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a cluster of five villages at the head of the Enguri Gorge, famous for its medieval stone towers. We will have a local lunch - rich with flavours of the region with traditional cuisine, sampling local dishes in a mountain setting. After exploring the village, we will go on a short hike along the Shkhara Trail at the foot of Mount Shkhara and its glacier, the highest peak in Georgia at 5,193 meters and the third highest in the Caucasus. Day 8: Back To Kutaisi & Martvili Canyon

In the morning, we visit the Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography and the Margiani House Museum, a 12th-century family home, to explore the rich culture and traditions of the Svan people. We then leave Svaneti and drive down from the Caucasus Mountains toward the Kutaisi region, where we explore the stunning Martvili Canyon, a 2.4 km gorge carved by the Abasha River, both on foot and by boat. Day 9: Prometheus Cave & Back To The Capital

This morning, we visit Prometheus Cave, Georgia’s largest cave complex, to explore its captivating underground world of stalactites, stalagmites, lakes, and rivers. On the return journey to Tbilisi, we stop near Shrosha to browse the traditional pottery market, where a variety of ceramic vessels and souvenirs are on display, before completing our journey back to the capital, where our trip ends.
